- זָעַק(b. h.) to cry. Ex. R. s. 1 (ref. to Ex 2:23) אין וַיִזְעָקוּ אלאוכ׳ ‘they cried has the meaning of lamenting. Hif. הִזְעִיק to cause to cry. Gen. R. s. 67, v. זְעָקָה.
